Happy Coastal Cleanup Month!

Dive into Coastal Cleanup Month this September!

Protect Our Creeks, Wetlands, and Bay! Join friends, family, and neighbors across the state for California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 19th. As California’s largest annual volunteer effort, this is our chance to unite, tackle plastic pollution, and safeguard our local waterways and wildlife.

Whether you’re on the shore or inland, every bit of trash removed helps keep California beautiful.

Ways to Get Involved:

  • Join a Local Cleanup: Sign up for an organized event near you in Alameda County.
  • Host a “DIY” Cleanup: Grab a few friends, grab some gloves, and pick up litter in your local neighborhood, park, or creek bed. Every piece counts!

Special credit to artist Phyllis Shafer for providing the beautiful artwork featured on this year’s official event posters!
