April 22, 2025 is the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, and we’re celebrating all month long! Join your neighbors in celebrating our area’s natural beauty and helping keep our creeks, shores and the Bay healthy and litter-free! We invite you, your friends and your family to explore our fun activities for all ages.

Berkeley
Earth Day Cleanup Saturday, April 19, 1PM-4PM Shorebird Park, 160 University Ave, Berkeley, CA 94710
Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to join us for the Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup. All participants must fill out a waiver. If under 18, volunteers must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
Follow the directional signs on University Ave to the South Cove Sailing Basin lot for the cleanup registration area. All volunteers should plan to wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the work and weather conditions of the day. A limited number of supplies will be available, so please bring the following if you are able to:
- Bucket or reusable bag
- Reusable gloves
- Trash grabber
- Reusable water bottle

Berkeley Bay Festival Saturday, April 26, 11AM – 4PM Celebrate the San Francisco Bay at the Berkeley Marina. Connect with the Bay and our local community through live music, performers, food, hands-on educational activities, and free boat rides. This free, family-focused event celebrates the Bay, its local wildlife, and the people and agencies dedicated to its protection. Over 30 environmental and wildlife conservation organizations from around the Bay will share their exhibits with the public.
Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, and Unincorporated Areas
Castro Valley Creek at the Library
Litter cleanup and trail beautification Saturday, April 26, 9AM – 12PM Volunteers are needed to beautify and clean up Castro Valley. Please consider helping out with some options of clean up and beautification opportunities to choose from at Castro Valley parks and public areas
During the Clean-Up: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring work gloves if you can, a water bottle, and snacks (if needed), and don’t forget a hat! Please note that CVSan requires a parent or guardian for volunteers under the age of 18 to sign a registration and hold harmless agreement at the event.
Dublin
Dublin Pride Volunteer Day Saturday, April 26, 8AM – 12:30PM
Dublin Pride Volunteer Day is an annual event that provides a variety of volunteer opportunities for the community to give back to their city. All ages are welcome; however, for safety reasons, anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Emeryville
Shorebird Park, Emeryville Sunday, April 27, 9AM – 12PM
Are you excited for Earth Day? We definitely are! Come on out to Emeryville’s annual shoreline cleanup at Shorebird Park to celebrate Earth Day outdoors with the Emeryville community! Help make Shorebird Park a cleaner and safer place for wildlife and people. All are welcome!
Refreshments and clean-up tools will be provided.
