Pollutants of Concern Control Program Fact Sheet for City Managers

Public agencies in Alameda County are working together to keep pollutants out of the San Francisco Bay. Under regional requirements, these agencies must reduce pollutants of concern (POCs) in stormwater runoff. This fact sheet explains how local agencies, through the Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program (ACCWP), collectively protect Bay water quality by targeting two key contaminants in urban runoff: polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and mercury.
