Happy Earth Day! Celebrate our creeks, waterways and the Bay by volunteering or attending one of many Earth Day events in the county. Here’s a partial list. Note that events start as early as April 6 and run through April 27.

Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup

Meet at Chevy's restaurant parking lot. adjacnt to Shorebird Park in Emeryville.
If you have, please bring a reusable water bottle and coffee mug, collection bags and/or buckets, work gloves or rubber gloves, garden claws. Wear layers, sunscreen, sturdy shoes and a hat.

Invasive Plants Removal

Organized by Friends of 5 Creeks. Remove invasive, fire-prone French broom, helping the community and wildlife. Snacks, tools, and gloves provided. Bring re-usable water bottle. Wear long pants, long sleeves, socks, and closed-toed shoes with good traction. Not recommended for very young children due to possibility of poison oak. No registration required.

Join your neighbors to clean and green Oakland at Oakland's 25th Annual Earth Day! Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to join cleanup
